The Mersea Island food, drink and leisure festival is held at Mersea Outdoors in Rewsalls Lane and is a celebration of the food and drink for which the area is rightly proud and has often become famous for producing. Take your time to peruse the stands, chat to the producers and sample all they have to offer from smoked foods, fresh fish and meat, to ice cream, cakes and preserves. Friday 7th December – Mersea Lights up. Mersea’s biggest night of the season. Follow Santa in his horse drawn sleigh down the High Street to the MICA car park where he will officially turn on Mersea’s Christmas lights!! The bar will be open in the main hall where there will be stalls selling Christmas fayre and charity goods, Mersea Island Lions will have mulled wine, mince pies and Stollen and Santa will be opening his grotto to the children of Mersea Island. Join us for live entertainment and activities from 5pm onwards.
Location: Waldegraves Holiday Park, Waldegraves Lane, West Mersea, CO5 8SE. Annual summer show suitable for the whole family. Come and enjoy free vintage bus rides to and from the village centre to Waldegraves. There will be craft stalls, games, inflatables, live music, fun dog show, arena displays, food and drink, fabulous Lions tea tent, display of classic vehicles and bikes. Mersea Week is a ‘family and friends’-oriented week. The sheltered waters of the River Blackwater provide perfect conditions and space to run daily racing with expert race management and courses for all.
West Mersea Town Regatta takes place on Mersea Island in Essex, and has been running since 1838.
