Visitors can enjoy walks on Essex Wildlife Trust’s Nature Reserve at Abberton Reservoir with stunning panoramic views across the Reservoir and surrounding villages as well as superb views of the water’s edge from three accessible bird hides.
The reserve has a 900m accessible circular footpath guiding you through a number of habitats including grassland and scrub areas. Take a look at the Brambly Hedge Wooden Sculpture trail and the Middleditch wild play area ideal for younger visitors to explore the outdoors.
Refreshments are available from the Skylark tearoom which is open daily between 9:30am – 4:30pm, and why not take a look in the well stocked gift shop which offers all manner of items from binoculars through to bird food, feeders and wildlife themed items.
